CRM Budget

The CRM budget allows to make a budget on a CRM object, in order to track how much is earned and expended on tasks within different Activities.

When enabled the CRM Budget function, reveals a menu point for creating Budget Activities in the settings menu in the settings module, an economy tab on the individual CRM object and an activity selector on each task.

Budget activities is used to divide task income and expenses into different categories such as: “Road work”, “Maintenance” etc., and on each CRM object a budget can then be created, which outlines how much money that should be invoiced on the given activities.

When the budget is created, it will show how the budget measures up to the actual numbers, by summing up all income on all tasks on the appropriate activities.

The CRM budget can be edited throughout the period, which will create budget corrections, so it is both possible to see the original budget and the budget correction.

Options for generating the CRM budget

These options appear in the general settings in the CRM module, when the function is enabled.

Cost date

This determines when the cost is dated. Options are on the date of the expense or on the date the task was created.

Income

This determines when income is dated. Options are on the date of the income or on the date the task was created.

Master budgets and budget corrections

When a budget is saved, it is considered a master budget. A master budget cannot have dates that overlap another master budget.

A newly created master budget can be edited (in all aspects) or deleted, until the end of the day on which it was created, and then it is locked.

If one tries to edit a locked budget, it is allowed. One can edit the numbers but not the dates which are locked. If such a budget is saved, it is considered a budget correction. Like a master budget a budget correction can be edited and deleted until end of day, and then it too becomes locked. Editing a locked budget correction will create a new budget correction.
