User types are a way to categorize the different users in the Microbizz solution. These are not to be associated with Teams, which are more relevant when working with and defining permissions etc.

User types are categories for the users in Microbizz and an example of user types could be the following:

  • Management
  • Operations

Image Modified

The user type is independent from teams, which makes it useful when categorizing users.

For example a user could have a user type called Operations and be part of multiple teams like:

  • Management
  • Operations in North
  • Operations in South

Users in the operational teams will all have the same User type, but divided into different teams enables Microbizz to further divide access and permissions for the different users.

User types also links up with the Customs fields in the User module. Therefore, it is possible to make specific custom fields for specific types of users.

Create a user type

Your Microbizz setup might include the ones you need, but it is possible to add more.

Image Modified

To create a new user type you need to fill out the following:

  • Type name: Name of the user type

  • Letter: The letter represents the user type in the rest of the system

  • Colour: The colour frames the letter (to help create overview of the different user types)

Edit a user type

Editing a user type happens in the same menu. Just click on the pencil or directly on the title to enter edit mode.
